Quite often, male infertility is a consequence of various sperm diseases. At the same time, its quality is violated and conception becomes impossible, if not carried out the appropriate treatment.

One of the most common diseases leading to infertility is necrosis.

It is expressed in a large number of non-viable spermatozoa - more than half of their total number.

Necrospermia does not have any distinctive symptoms.Diagnosis is done by examining the sperm. It is recommended to do spermogram several times to observe the course of the disease in the dynamics and get a more objective result. Necrospermia should be distinguished from other pathological states of spermatozoa when they are alive, but inactive. For an accurate diagnosis, additional tests may be needed:

  • for the presence of sexually transmitted infections;
  • Ultrasound;
  • determination of the level of hormones - testosterone, estrogen;
  • the immunological and biochemical blood test;
  • hypo-osmotic test.

Such an in-depth study is always desirable, since necrospermia may in some cases be a manifestation of a more serious disease.

Causes of the disease

It should be noted that it is not possible to establish the cause of the disease in all cases. But most often the disease occurs for the following reasons:

  • developmental anomalies;
  • various injuries or consequences of surgical intervention;
  • the negative effects of alcohol, nicotine and narcotic substances;
  • systemic and endocrine diseases of the body (hepatic and renal insufficiency, tuberculosis, diabetes mellitus);
  • infection of the genitourinary system;
  • effects of taking certain medicines.

In 40% of cases, necrospermia occurs due to inflammatory diseases caused by sexually transmitted infections. Disease-causing microorganisms enter the seminiferous tubules and then into the testicles and the prostate. Actively multiplying and releasing toxins, they cause the death of spermatozoa. If you do not make timely treatment, then the disease goes into a chronic form. As a consequence of the inflammatory process, scar tissue will form in the tissues. This condition is more difficult to treat and this can lead to persistent infertility, not treatable.

Principles of therapy

Determining the cause of the disease helps to choose the most effective treatment, which consists in its elimination. When infections of the genitourinary system is recommended to conduct therapy with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. With hormonal disorders, good results are achieved by treatment with special drugs with the selection of individual dosages, as well as the intake of vitamins and proper nutrition. In addition, doctors are usually advised to perform sexual intercourse 2 times a day - this will help reduce stagnation of sperm.

If the treatment is prescribed correctly, the full recovery and recovery of the reproductive function takes place. In some cases, there is no positive result, then an additional examination or use of assistive technology aimed at achieving fertilization, - ICSI or IVF.

Nekrozoospermia will not become a sentence for infertility, if in time to recognize the disease and strictly follow all the recommendations of the treating doctor.
